Rainfall

Tears escape my eyes, slipping down and caressing my face. Never did I feel that perhaps teardrops can hold such vivid stories: broken wings, an aching heart, a secret longing.

Until now, when my very soul splits asunder. Yet all I see around me is a masquerade. A carnival of delusions. I want to believe in you, so very much, love. Yet I feel you slipping away, hiding, evading me like a phantom.

So I seek solace in solitude. I run away into my dark forest. The heavens overlook my sadness and weep for me, raining softly. Teardrops join them, finding their way into the earth.

Perhaps… my teardrops would travel farther away with my stories. Perhaps they would water the wildflowers along the way. Perhaps one day, my tears and wildflowers and dreams will guide you to me, and your love will make me blossom again.
